Keep Your Trick-or-Treaters Safe on the Streets This Halloween

It is almost Halloween again here, and we here at Baumann Auto Center Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM Port Clinton want to wish you and yours a safe and happy Halloween!

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration warns that Halloween brings a definite rise in motor vehicle accidents involving pedestrians. To make sure your children stay safe while trick-or-treating this year, keep these important safety tips in mind:
  • Teach your children about traffic safety. Make sure they know to cross streets carefully and be watching for cars at all times.
  • Make sure younger children are supervised by an adult at all times.
  • Make your children more visible to drivers. Add reflective tape to their costumes.
  • Encourage children to stay together and not wander off alone. Remind them to stay in areas that are safe with plenty of lighting.
  • Face masks may be fun, but they can obstruct your child's view. Use non-toxic face paint instead.
  • Tripping can be very dangerous if a child ends up in the street in the path of an oncoming car. So avoid long flowing costumes.
